Corona will also be over at some point. There is no doubt about that. But what will remain in many cases: The predicament that some companies have found themselves in due to the lockdown, disruption to supply chains and other consequences of the pandemic – or which has been exacerbated by 2020. After all, the upheavals in the industry were already more than noticeable before coronavirus.

However, I am less concerned with the large corporate steamships. They usually plow through raging seas of crisis quite well and adapt to new currents. Rather, I am thinking of the German SME sector. I have already written elsewhere about their special features, which are the envy of many countries, but also about their problems. Our conzima team has been supporting SMEs and their employees for many years in taking the right measures to secure a sustainable future. We have also developed strategies for this special situation that we are currently experiencing, which help to secure livelihoods and ideally emerge from the crisis stronger than before.

Of course, this also includes strengthening the financial backing of companies. In recent years, we have already been able to support numerous SMEs with a wide range of services and expert advice in the areas of financing and restructuring. The spectrum ranges from debt capital to operational restructuring and succession planning. It goes without saying that we tailor our services to the profile of the company in question and this forms the basis for the success of the project. With the new liquidity in the background, we create scope for initiating the necessary restructuring processes. This facilitates the development of new business areas and markets, for example. And clears the way for a turnaround. Our aim is to increase sales and return the company to profitability. If the customer then suddenly realizes that they have become the global market leader together with us – which we have already achieved – then this confirms our approach in the most excellent way.
