Today, complex business processes are the rule rather than the exception. However, this also increases the risk of hitches in processes. If the process stops at one point, this costs time and money at the very least. In the worst case, the customer turns away from the supplier. This is why bosses and employees agree: measures that reduce waiting times, constant coordination loops and stress when time pressure increases due to inefficiency are gladly adopted. After all, if you work through your tasks step by step, you can finish work on time at the end of the day. Most of the time anyway. However, the path to this pleasant working environment – which is also good for your work-life balance – is not that easy.

Small and medium-sized companies in particular find it difficult to optimize their internal processes in such a way that all the wheels mesh smoothly. Investing in external support makes sense here. Those who opt for external expertise should always make sure that a standard solution is not imposed on their company. Even the simple implementation of an ERP system will not solve any problems.

For us at Conzima, the first step is therefore always to document the current situation in a company. Even in this rather documentary work, starting points for standardizing processes can be detected. A study by the US market research institute Gartner has shown that this alone can increase a company’s efficiency by up to 15 percent.

The actual process optimization work begins on this basis. Our Conzima team takes on the role of moderator. Those involved should recognize problems themselves and see where the potential for change lies. After all, only processes that have been changed from within the company are sustainable and can be implemented.

One thing is already clear from all this: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to optimization measures. Sensible process optimization resembles the work of a tailor in many respects. An overview of our path to the perfect suit for a company can be found on our website under the keyword: expertise/process optimization.
