Project:
Complete restructuring of the unprofitable division and post-merger integration. Including strategic realignment and profiling of different locations and production plants.
Task:
Development of a joint business segment strategy, elimination of loss-makers (streamlining of locations, streamlining of product range, reorganization of workflows and business processes, reduction of staff), development of a joint brand and creation of a new marketing concept. In addition, introduction of Kaizen, Kanban and the flow principle to increase efficiency in the plants (production and logistics), implementation of overhead cost value analyses, reorganization of operational processes, restructuring of sales, internationalization and expansion of the dealer network.
Results:
- Successful turnaround and restructuring of the division after 2 years
- Reduction of manufacturing costs by 15-25
- Increase in sales by 20 % through acquisition of new customers and market entry in Asia (especially China)
