Creating cost transparency
Client:
International group of companies, € 500 million turnover, 1,200 employees
Project:
Creation of cost transparency in a highly complex, automated production and R&D site. In addition, management of strong growth and development of business management structures.
Task:
Introduction of reporting and planning systems to control the business units, a cost element/cost center/cost unit accounting system and a cost of sales calculation and profitability analysis. In addition, introduction of profit center accounting and a PPS system in production as well as the establishment of an international production network and a joint venture in Belarus.
Results:
- Transparency of results at cost center and profit center level through segmentation of the plant into decentralized, entrepreneurial units
- Introduction of structures at other Group locations and divisions (France, Italy, Belarus, USA)
- Economic decisions based on solid commercial structures as a prerequisite for controlled, transparent volume growth
